A photo of Lawrence Gowan

Embark on a musical journey with Lawrence Gowan, hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, and flourishing in the vibrant music scene of Canada. Before joining the legendary band Styx in 1999 as their keyboardist and vocalist, Gowan carved out a remarkable solo career.

At just 19, Gowan achieved an ARCT in classical piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. His solo career spanned six studio albums in the '80s and '90s, culminating in the acclaimed "Best Of..." collection in 1997. Notably, his second album, "Strange Animal" (1985), achieved triple platinum status in Canada, with the iconic "A Criminal Mind" winning the Juno Award for Best Video in 1985.

Gowan's albums boast collaborations with luminaries like Jon Anderson of Yes, Alex Lifeson of Rush, and Robert Fripp of King Crimson. His musical prowess was further recognized when he performed his original piece, "Healing Waters," with the BBC Orchestra at Princess Diana’s Memorial in Althorp, England.

Experience the enduring talent and boundless passion of Lawrence Gowan as he continues to grace stages, ever hopeful that the Gods of Rock will favour him for years to come.
